A little about my background

With 16 years in sales and more than 4 of those in business broking, Michael puts his skills to good use for vendors on a daily basis to:

-   Simplify the sales process for the vendor while maintaining confidentiality and;

-   Achieve the highest price possible on the current market.

Keeping vendors and buyers fully informed with accurate information at all stages of a sale is critical to achieving a good outcome.

Whether working through the Barker Business large buyer data base, utilising his network or targeting specific buyers locally or internationally, Michael will push hard to achieve a high price for his vendors.   

Michael has run his own services business, worked in commercial law, commercial mediation, project management, franchising and professional sailing. As the CEO of his services business, he sold services to major New Zealand and Australian businesses including two major telecommunications companies, Comalco Australasia, David Jones (Australia), Government Departments and Universities to name a few. He has purchased and sold businesses and was responsible for the successful service delivery on a 24/7 basis for ten years.

Michael understands the pressures of business, the need for total confidentiality and ensuring a sales process runs smoothly for all parties while at the same time maximising the value for business owners. He has and will continue to apply his drive and skills to achieve tremendous results for his vendors.

His business broking experience includes a wide range of service businesses, import, distribution and manufacturing.

In his spare time, Michael also sits on a tertiary educational advisory board, consults to IT companies, coaches people in yachting and business and is the Treasurer of a National Sports body.
